Hi everyone, I'm new to this site - having seen all the things in the news about toddler snacks that are packed full of salt and sugar, I was wondering if anyone had any good alternatives?
I love giving my toddlers those salt free rice cakes... they love them! Now my oldest has just started school, I have to take a whole pack as all his classmates and their siblings start demanding them!
Also, love making my own lollies as don't like the sound of what most shop ones contain... I just add bit of pure juice to lots of water and freeze them in these funky rocket ice lollie shapes...
They also love hummus and breadsticks...and cucumber, carrot sticks... seem to go down well if have little ones over to play

I have a 3 yr old and recently became interested in organic foods because like you, I noticed how much salt and sugar are in the snacks he likes. I know organic products are supposed to be better for you, especially kids, so I started doing some research. I found this book called "Healthy Baby Happy Home" online at http://www.healthybabyhappyhome.com that really helped a lot. The author gives lists of kids products he actually tried and suggests buying. I tried switching out my son's regular Goldfish crakers with the ones made with whole grain and bought other organic foods and so far, things are going great. He hardly noticed a difference in taste of his new organic snacks. We have tried a lot from the Earth's Best line. They have a lot of cookies and cereal bars and 100% juice bottles. The book recommended that brand so I tried it and we like it.
